Cork Blocks - Carving
Jelinek cork carving/decoy blocks are available in both high and low densities depending on your requirements. These cork carving blocks are specifically formulated in a density to maximize detailed carving, clean paint/color applications, and precise natural float distribution (ideal for cork decoys such as ducks).These cork carving blocks can be used for whatever carving project you'd like. The density selected depends on the level of detail you would like. The dark low density blocks are easy to carve however do not offer the same level of precision as the light high density cork blocks.
When used as decoy material, the cork combines the durability and floatation requirements of a hunting decoy with the likeness of the species. Jelinek cork decoys stand up to the trauma of everyday hunting – even being shot with stray pellets from time to time.
If a thicker block is required, blocks can be glued together using a water-based contact cement to achieve the desired thickness.
