Low density cork blocks are larger grain cork carving blocks made from baked cork. Baked cork is natural cork that has been “baked” at high heat and pressure, releasing a natural binder and turning the now expanded cork a dark earthy brown. Low density cork blocks are easy to carve, but will not offer the same level of precision as high density cork blocks due to their larger granule size.

Low density cork blocks are a natural product, and there may be slight color and grain size variations from block to block. If you need a thicker low density cork block, you can use a water-based contact cement to glue blocks together to reach the desired thickness.
