Semi-rigid insulation cork sheets, also known as expanded cork board, are primarily designed for insulation purposes, however, their multifunctional nature allows them to serve as wall and ceiling tiles and bulletin boards as well. Crafted from 100% natural material, these expanded insulation cork boards are ideal for sustainable building and construction. Whether for use on walls, roofs, ceilings, or in cavity walls, this eco-conscious material provides excellent thermal, acoustic, and anti-vibration insulation.

These semi-rigid boards are 100% cork. The cork granules are heated which causes the granules to expand and release resins (suberin) which are a natural binder. No additives or binders are added. The cork granules and suberin are pressed into blocks and cut to the desired dimensions. Due to the heating process, the sheets have a naturally dark (almost black) color and they initially emit a subtle ‘burnt cork’ smell, which dissipates over time.

This is the Standard Grade of semi-rigid expanded insulation cork sheets. It has a lower density than the Exterior Grade. If the intended use is for exterior applications such as wall cladding or where a higher density material is better suited, we recommend our Exterior Grade.
