Contour Acoustic Wall Tiles, Hexagon | Pack of 10
About this Item
Jelinek Cork contour acoustic 3D cork tiles are made from cork harvested from cork oak trees without harming the tree. There is no adhesive binder used in the production of these tiles. They are 100% natural. Granulated cork is "baked" in molds which causes natural resins in cork to bind to each other. This baking process causes the color to turn a dark brown. The cork is further shaped into approx. 9.25 inch x 10.75 inch individual 3 dimensional (3D) hexagon shapes designed with acoustics in mind. The natural color is a dark neutral between brown and black.

Other Information
Due to the natural characteristics of cork the color may vary slightly from tile to tile. Variations in screen settings and technology may cause the actual color to vary slightly from the image on the screen.
These panels insulate but do not lock in moisture. Unlike most synthetic (plastic and rubber) acoustic panels that can trap moisture between the wall and the panel and cause unexposed mildew or mold, these panels are breathable allowing moisture to naturally evaporate.
Panels are adhered to your wall using contact adhesive (purchased separately). Contact adhesive (also called Contact Cement) is applied to the reverse of the tile as well as to the wall area using a brush. The adhesive is allowed to dry on both surfaces. When dry, the tile is carefully positioned on the wall and pressed against the wall forming a permanent bond.
